REFLECTION

Experiences
On the first task, we had 2 exercises we needed to complete. We were assigned to create 8 different posters that implements the 8 typographic systems on the first exercise. At first, I was quite shocked since I had to make 8 different posters. But, once I got a better understanding of the systems and experimented with different designs. It was not as overwhelming as I thought. Then on the second exercise, we had to dissect letterforms from images. I had a lot of fun dissecting the letterforms, it was very interesting to see the letterforms development. After dissecting the letterforms, we had to create a movie poster with it. To be honest, I had a bit of a hard time creating it and I was a bit confused at the start.

The second task that we had to do was creating our very own wordmarks. I can't lie, I had the hardest time finishing this task compared to the others. I was very overwhelmed and confused while developing it. So, I did some more research and looked into more references to try and develop it as much as I could. Creating the wordmarks was the first part of task 2, we needed to create mockups, exploration, and an animation. During the period of creating the mockups, I was so confused since I have never done so before. I did not know how to do it or where to start. But once I did some more research, it was fun creating it. Though for the exploration, I did not feel as overwhelmed as confused. I had a lot of fun exploring the identity of my wordmark. For the last part of the task, which is creating the animation. To be honest, I was having fun learning to make the animations. It was a lot of experimenting, but I'm glad that I got to create several animations and learn from the experience.

The last and third task on this module, we had to make our very own workable font. Then after making the font work, we had to make the font presentations and applications. When I was making the font design, I did redo some of my letterforms. It took some time and I was really behind, but I did not regret it since I wanted to create something that I was happy with. Plus, I got a lot of learning experience from it so I have no regrets. After my font design was done and I made it typeable, I had so much fun exploring the different ideas with my font. I like to see the development of my own font, the process was both fun and interesting. I also had a lot of fun creating the font applications and exploring the different designs.

Observation
During this module, we had to create typographic system posters, dissect letterforms from an image, create our own wordmark, make mockups, create an animation, create our own workable font, make font presentations and applications. I faced a lot of hard times while finishing some of the task, but I decided to do some more research and overcome it. By doing so, I learnt much more and had new experiences facing troubles. I also noticed how slow I am compared to my peers when working on our tasks, so I thought that I should learn how to manage my time better. Even though I faced some hardships, I am glad I did because I am happy with the outcomes of my tasks.

Findings
Overall, I had a lot of fun and learnt a lot during the period of this module. There were some rough patches, but I am glad that I experienced it or I wouldn't have learnt as much as I probably would. I learnt the different typographic systems, how to create my very own wordmark, develop my animation skills, how to make mockups, and how to create a workable font. I also noticed that I was so slow, I was always behind my peers on something. So, I took note that I needed to manage my time better and work more efficiently.
